Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a Bundt pan or a loaf pan to prevent sticking.
- In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract until fully combined.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Baking
- In a separate bowl, take 1 cup of the batter and mix it with cocoa powder until well integrated.
- Spoon alternating dollops of the vanilla and chocolate batters into the prepared pan, using a knife or skewer to swirl gently for the marbled effect.
- Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cooling and Glazing
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
- Once cooled, drizzle with a delicious chocolate glaze.
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for a smooth batter. Don’t over-swish the batters when marbling. Check for doneness a few minutes before the suggested baking time.
