Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined, then set aside.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with the apples, until just combined.
- Fold in the nuts if using.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for about 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow cooling in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
