Ingredients
  

For the sausages
  • 4 pieces bratwurst sausages Choose quality bratwurst made with real meat.
For the curry sauce
  • 1 cup tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp curry powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • 2 tsp sugar Optional to eliminate for no-added-sugar option.
  • to taste cayenne pepper Optional for extra spice.
  • to taste garlic powder Optional for added flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your grill or pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the bratwurst and grill for about 5-7 minutes, turning until golden brown.
Making the sauce
  1. In a saucepan, combine the ketchup, curry powder, smoked paprika, white vinegar, and sugar.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring gently for about 5-7 minutes, until it thickens slightly.
Serving
  1. Remove the bratwursts from the grill, allow to rest for a minute, then slice diagonally into thirds.
  2. Place the sliced bratwursts on a plate and drizzle the warm curry ketchup sauce over them.
  3. Serve with a side of crispy fries or fresh rolls.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Freeze sausages separately from the sauce for up to 2 months.
