Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Boil the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside to cool.
Cooking
- In a skillet, heat the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked, then drain excess grease.
- In a large bowl, mix the cooked beef, ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup marinara sauce, egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well blended.
- Stuff each cooked pasta shell with the beef and cheese mixture without overstuffing.
- Spread a layer of marinara sauce at the bottom of a baking dish. Place the stuffed shells neatly, cover with remaining marinara, and sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
Serving
- Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve warm.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days or frozen. Reheat in the oven for best texture.
