Ingredients
  

For the Stuffed Shells
  • 12 pieces jumbo pasta shells Boil until al dente.
  • 1 lb ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey for a leaner option.
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese Opt for fresh ricotta for the best flavor.
  • 2 cups marinara sauce Use high-quality sauce or homemade for best taste.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 piece egg Helps bind the filling mixture.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • for garnish Fresh basil Optional, for garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Boil the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside to cool.
Cooking
  1. In a skillet, heat the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked, then drain excess grease.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the cooked beef, ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup marinara sauce, egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well blended.
  3. Stuff each cooked pasta shell with the beef and cheese mixture without overstuffing.
  4. Spread a layer of marinara sauce at the bottom of a baking dish. Place the stuffed shells neatly, cover with remaining marinara, and sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan.
  5. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
Serving
  1. Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve warm.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days or frozen. Reheat in the oven for best texture.
