Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry mixture, using a pastry cutter or fingers to work it in until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Slowly stir in the milk until the mixture just comes together, avoiding overmixing.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently about 5-6 times.
- Roll the dough to about 1-inch thickness and cut out rounds with a biscuit cutter.
- Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, ensuring they almost touch.
Baking
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
- Enjoy warm with butter or jam.
Notes
Store cooked biscuits in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
