Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 200 g marzipan Choose high-quality marzipan with a high almond content.
  • 1-2 drops almond extract Ensure it’s vegan-friendly if required.
  • 1-2 tbsp powdered sugar Optional; can be substituted with sugar alternatives.
  • 2-3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder For coating; using premium cocoa can elevate flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, knead the marzipan with almond extract until smooth and well combined.
  2. If the mixture feels too soft or sticky, gradually add powdered sugar until it reaches a firmer consistency.
  3. Divide the mixture into small portions and roll each into balls or oval shapes resembling tiny potatoes.
  4. Spread cocoa powder evenly in a shallow dish and roll each marzipan shape in it until thoroughly coated.
  5. Use a sieve to gently shake off any excess cocoa powder.
  6. Arrange the marzipan potatoes on a serving plate or pack them into small decorative boxes for gifting.
