- Add berries, water or juice, sugar, and a pinch of salt to a medium pot. Bring it to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Let it simmer for about 5 to 8 minutes until berries release their juices and soften.
- Taste to adjust sweetness with more sugar or lemon juice as preferred.
- In a small cup, mix the cornstarch with cold water until smooth. Slowly pour it into the simmering mixture while stirring.
- Continue stirring for 1 to 2 minutes until the mixture thickens and is glossy. Remove from heat.
- Pour into bowls or a large serving dish. Let it cool, then cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight for best texture.
Notes
The dessert tastes better if chilled overnight. Adjust sweetness according to the type of berries used. Serve with vanilla sauce, cream, or yogurt.
