  • 2 cups mixed dried fruits, chopped Choose high-quality dried fruits for best flavor.
  • 1 cup nuts (walnuts, almonds, or hazelnuts), chopped Use fresh nuts for better crunch.
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free blend if needed.
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • 1 pinch ground cloves
  • 2 eggs Can be replaced with flax eggs for a vegan version.
  • ½ cup honey or brown sugar
  • ½ cup milk Use almond milk for a dairy-free option.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 zest of 1 orange

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Chop the dried fruits and nuts into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ground cloves.
  4. In another bowl, whisk the eggs, honey (or brown sugar), milk, vanilla extract, and orange zest until smooth.
  5. Gradually combine the wet and dry mixtures, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chopped dried fruits and nuts.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan and bake for 45-50 minutes.
  2. Let the bread cool completely in the pan before slicing.

Notes

Store the bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Drizzle a glaze of powdered sugar and milk on top for a visual enhancement.
